Is It Worth It? (Sewing Edition)

I really like this book for what it is, but I will say this book is not geared toward someone who does not have a base foundation already in pattern drafting.If you don't know how to draft a simple bodice, skirt and pants I would skip over this book for the time being, or use it with another more basic pattern-drafting book.
Might I add I liked the illustrations :)
I think Helen Joseph Armstrong and Connie Crawford have more accessible books on pattern drafting, that are much more beginner friendly. This book would be the next step up.There are some interesting designs presented and I love the fact that many different necklines and variation of necklines were included, and the collars to me were drool worthy :) The only thing I wished had been switched was some of the exercises that you complete on your own-had layout and directions as some of the designs were super cute.
As with all pattern-drafting books there is going to be some overlap with other drafting books.
I enjoyed the menswear section as well as it had some practical clothing patterns.

The best designs and/or intricate designs were exercises to do on your own
Limited instructions
In centimeters-the book does have a conversion chart and depending on the way you learned to draft patterns
--using centimeters can be an either a con or a pro. For me it was a con.
Limited content on correcting fit issues.

Even with all of the cons it is impossible for me to give this book a low rating as the shelf life will be more than worth it, as so many designs were covered.
If this book had instructions comparable to other popular pattern drafting books it would definitely be a 5 star book.
Is it worth it? absolutely!!
